I found it interesting to read about all that a female had to go through to be a part of the then man’s world of science and the university system of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Also intriguing was the idea that it could have been a woman, Albert Einstein’s wife, who came up with the theory of relativity, and one has to wonder how many other times in the course of history a man has taken credit for a woman’s discovery.

Most of this novel was set in Switzerland, with parts of it in Mileva Maric’s native land known today as Serbia, Einstein’s native Germany, Poland, France and Austria.  This story was well written and I hope to read more books by Marie Benedict in the future.
