Outside My Window… It’s a rainy morning, but I can see bright yellow flowers in my front flower bed, pink impatience in a container near the front door, and my Texas Star Hibiscus right out the window. I can’t wait until it produces big red blooms!
I am thinking… About my mom, who lost her friend and companion of six years yesterday. He was a lovely man and they had some very good times. He will be missed.
I am thankful for… Rain! I won’t have to water plants outside today.
From the kitchen… I heard David making espresso and microwaving breakfast.
I am wearing … A purple t-shirt (with a sparkly butterfly embroidered on it), blue jeans, turquoise Sketcher loafers, white socks (inside out). No bling yet – soon, though, as I need to run to town for groceries this morning.
I am hoping… My Texas Star Hibiscus takes good root in the front flowerbed. I added a good bit of compost, since the original soil there can only be very loosely called soil.
I am reading… I just finished The Kingmaker’s Daughter, by Philippa Gregory. Also still reading The Rosetta Key, by William Dietrich and The End of Diabetes, by Joel Fuhrman, M.D.
I am busy creating… Still crocheting my afghan and creating outside gardens.
I am hearing… High Time by Kacey Musgraves on Spotify in my earbuds and a instructional video that Bill is watching at his computer next to me.
Around the house & garden… We completed the “heat the pool relatively inexpensively” project this weekend. Lots of black tubing running along the length of fence that gets the most sunshine, along with a circulating pump to move the pool water through the tubing. Now we just need warm weather and sunshine, neither of which is in the forecast this week.
In other news… I crossed of several more things on the Gardening To Do List. I’ll post an update later this week.
One of my favorite things… Lists. I like making lists. To Do Lists. Books Read Lists. Birthdates lists. Names lists. I’ll confess, I’m a list maker.
Our Weekly Overview…
Monday: This morning I’ll be making a grocery run. Then this afternoon I need to spend some time cleaning up papers & receipts that are scattered all over my office table. And make a phone call to an Alabama realtor. Bill is working from home all week. David works all week and will have the weekend off. He gets every third weekend off.
Tuesday: I’ll be working on paying bills, since it’s a pay day, and also continuing the quest to keep Quicken up to date. We’re supposed to have rain most of the week, so I doubt I will be getting much gardening done.
Wednesday: Probably more Quicken & office paper work and then, hopefully, some housecleaning. It is desperately needed.
Thursday: More housecleaning?
Friday: Homeschool chat and whatever is left to finish up before the weekend.
Saturday: & Sunday: No plans, other than yard work, pool cleaning, depending upon the weather. And also NASCAR watching.
Here is picture thought I am sharing ..
My lilies are blooming quite nicely. Most of them so far are bright yellow, but this pink one is especially lovely.
The lily is pretty, you’ve got several more flowers to come too.
