Tulip Doily

My latest finished crochet piece. Isn’t it pretty?

I made this Tulip Doily for my cousin Roberta as a small thank you for letting us stay at their place last month when we had to evacuate due to the Monument and Antelope Wildfires. This was a quick and easy pattern to whip up; I started it Tuesday evening while watching television and finished it Thursday morning, probably five or six hours crocheting time. I really liked the way it turned out.

The Tulip Doily pattern came out of a Leisure Arts Publication book, titled At home with crochet (Crochet collection series). I have owned this book for probably fifteen years and it has become one of my favorite. These are all the items I have made from patterns in this book:

  • Kat’s graduation afghan, Bold Appeal. I thought I had a photo of this, but I can’t find it and my scanner isn’t working properly right now. I’ll try later to add a scanned picture of this afghan.
  • David’s graduation afghan, Building Blocks Quilt, which I am sure he would appreciate it if I would finish this!

  • Quick Feminine Scarf – I made several of these this past winter, giving many away and even keeping a few for myself.

I think my next doily will be from this book also, a Wheat Doily. But first I’m making a shrug for myself from a kit I ordered. I hope to begin it today!
