My Paris Market Cookbook by Emily Dilling Book Review

I read this book as part of the 2017 European Reading Challenge.

This might seem like an odd book to read, but I thought it might contain lots of fresh vegetable recipes that I could use and maybe some Parisian history to boot. And there were a lot of recipes. Unfortunately, I found exactly one recipe that worked with my plant-based way of eating – everything had meat or diary in it! And even though I took French in high school, the amount of French words that were throughout the book made reading it rather difficult.
If you lived in Paris and wanted a good guide to the fresh markets available in your area, this would be an excellent book for that purpose. And if you wanted some new recipes that included meats and cheeses and oil and such, this just might be the book for you. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the book for me.
