Wintertime in Arizona amazes me at times with its beautiful skies. Not just the intense blues, but the gorgeous sunsets (and quite possibly sunrises, but I donβt seem to arise early enough to see them!).
Yesterday we traveled to Bisbee and back, just enjoying the lovely skies and the fringes of snow on the higher elevation mountains. The sunshine of the last couple of days has caused the snowline to recede up to around 9000 feet in some areas, although in this first picture it appears to be more likely around 6000 β 7000 feet.
By the time we got to the Lavender Pit Copper Mine in Bisbee, the sun was behind the mountains, casting too much shadow for good picture taking. I did manage to get one nice shot of the pit:
And then there was yet again another gorgeous sunset, complete with wispy clouds and pastel colors!
Here is the picture that I am sharing … 365 – 003
I may have to add this last one to my revolving title banner!
Oh, I hope you put it up on top. It’s a lovely photo!
The lavender pit mine has interesting colors. Just a “little” afternoon jaunt to Bisbee, huh? LOL!
You have some lovely landscapes.
But Bisbee only about 20 miles from us. And we had to test out our new GPS! I think we were only gone an hour and a half total, not counting eating out for supper! Next time, though, we’re going to stop and walk the downtown area of Bisbee. I finally got Bill to drive through there and I saw several very interesting places to visit. Of course, that is what he expected and why he’s resisted that drive for so long! π
Gorgeous!
oh that is pretty… glad you saw some interesting places to visit too π
