Free Admission to Florida State Parks

Tomorrow, July 13th, all Florida State Parks waive their admission fees to encourage children and families to reconnect with nature.

We are planning to visit the Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park, which is only a few miles from here.

The website states:

Cool off during these hot days of Summer in the beautiful Wakulla Spring. Water temperature is always a refreshing 69 degrees. Our swimming area features a dive tower and two swimming platforms. The crystal clear water is very inviting. If swimming is not in your plans you can enjoy a fabulous boat tour along the Wakulla River. Wildlife abounds as you explore the breathtaking scenery.

Now I am not sure that I will be able to do anything more than dip my big toe in 69 degrees water, but we are going to try out the swimming area. Although the boat tours sound fun too, but that would cost extra, so maybe we will just stick to the swimming plan this time around.
