Weekly Overview 06.12.18

Outside My Window…   I’m waiting impatiently for my Texas Star hibiscus to bloom.

I am thinking…  that I’m out of energy and likely done for the day and it’s only 3:30 in the afternoon!  Currently having another bout with an intestinal bug, plus I had blood drawn this morning – not a good combination for energy levels.

I am thankful for…  mulch, lots of mulch on my flower beds, which means I only have to water about every third or fourth day.

I am hoping… I feel better tomorrow.

 I am reading…

  • Somewhere Safe With Somebody Good by Jan Karon (Bestseller Code 100 book challenge)
  • Disease-Proof Your Child: Feeding Kids Right  by Joel Fuhrman
  • Building The American Empire, Volume I: A Narrative History to 1877 by Harry L. Watson
  • Jeff Gordon: His Dream, Drive & Destiny by Joe Garner
  • The Lord John Series, 4 book bundle by Diana Gabaldon

I am busy creating… an afghan for Fiona’s dog, Blackie.  Yes, for a dog.

I am hearing… the dishwasher, Bill and a client talking, piano music in the background.

Around the house…  I’ve begun preparing for guests who are planning to visit the last two weeks in June, but the arrival date seems to be a bit nebulous.  The guest room and the bonus room both need to be made ready, along with cleaning the guest bathroom.  I plan to work at a bit each day this week and have it done by the weekend.

Around the garden…  I cleaned up pots and bags of soil, etc., yesterday morning, so the yards look pretty good.  I need to rake around the edges of the fence and pressure wash the pool decking.  We’re having an issue with moles in the back/side yard, coming under the fence from the neighbor to the south (again).  I put out bait over the weekend, but need to pick up some more to have, just in case.

In other news… I bought a size small shirt last week!  The size medium was just too baggy.  Granted, the style of the shirt is quite loose (think hippie / peasant blouse), but still … I haven’t bought a size small anything in about 30 years!

One of my favorite things… Starbucks soy chai latte with a shot of blonde espresso.  LOL  Probably not the thing to mention right after I write about losing more weight and fitting into smaller clothes.

Our Weekly Overview…

Karen:   Monday I worked outside mowing and gardening all morning and then relaxed, did some laundry, in the afternoon.  Tuesday morning, bloodwork and groceries, afternoon resting.  Wednesday afternoon I have a chiro appointment.  Thursday morning I meet with a MG who is in charge of the SWAt program to talk about SWAt (meeting at Whole Foods). Friday is the newsletter submission deadeline, so I’ll likely begin doing a little prep work on the newsletter that day.  The rest of the week the focus is doing my weekly input to Quicken and prepping the house for guests.

Bill:  Bill is working from home all week, other than Monday late afternoon he had a meeting in Plano. He also has a chiropractic appointment this week, and a dentist appointment, which he’s totally not thrilled about (3 cavities to fill!).  Evenings we’ll all swim before supper when the schedule and weather permits.

David:  David is making plans to look for a job (updating his resume), and also learning Python in the hopes that it will lead to some contract work that one of his friends is currently doing.  He’s also working on getting signed up for one of his required classes that is offered in late summer.  Plus he’s begun to join us on our evening swims.

Here’s a picture thought I am sharing …

Sorry, no picture thoughts.  No energy to go take pictures.
